Reiss Colwell’s Future in Doubt as The Six Face a New Challenge?

Sonia Fowler’s shocking arrest has left Walford residents reeling, with many struggling to believe that she could be guilty of murder. However, a new theory suggests that The Six may soon take matters into their own hands once again.

Could The Six soon become The Seven as Sonia Fowler faces trial for a crime she did not commit?

EastEnders viewers are aware that Sonia’s fiancé, Reiss Colwell, is the true culprit behind the crime, but the authorities are convinced that the much-loved nurse is responsible for smothering Debbie Colwell to death in a bid to claim her life insurance payout.

Despite the mounting evidence against Sonia, Reiss, portrayed by Jonny Freeman, was able to walk free following his police questioning. As events unfolded, Thursday’s (August 22) episode of the BBC soap saw Sonia taken away to prison, where she awaits trial. This dramatic development was first revealed in an early BBC iPlayer release.

Meanwhile, in the heart of Albert Square, tensions ran high as Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) discussed the shocking situation. During the conversation, Sharon revealed that Reiss had previously scammed both her and Phil Mitchell out of a significant sum of money, raising further suspicions about his true nature.

The Six – who were involved in Keanu Taylor’s murder last Christmas – could now have another problem on their hands. Jack was brought into their confidence later, but Stacey, Kathy, and Sharon all played a direct role in Keanu’s death and its subsequent cover-up. Additionally, Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) unknowingly added to the growing complications when she gave Debbie’s ring to Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) during a marriage proposal. If the authorities link this to Debbie’s murder, Eve could soon find herself under scrutiny.

Given the group’s history, could Reiss Colwell become their next target? If suspicions continue to grow, The Six may decide to deal with him themselves – either through a calculated plan or in a moment of desperation. Having already rid themselves of one abusive husband, Nish Panesar, could they now unite again to eliminate Reiss? If so, will things spiral further out of control, leading to yet another tragic death?

Regular viewers will recall that last Christmas, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) stabbed Keanu to death in a desperate bid to save Sharon from being strangled during a violent confrontation at The Queen Vic. His body was later discovered buried beneath Kathy’s café, where The Six had disposed of him. Since then, Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) has been framed for the crime, but his upcoming trial poses a serious risk of exposing their secret – especially now that Keanu’s sister, Bernie (Clair Norris), has started digging for the truth.

As Sonia remains in prison, separated from her loved ones in Walford, her return to Albert Square appears unlikely in the near future. This aligns with real-life developments, as Natalie Cassidy, who has portrayed Sonia since 1993, is set to take a temporary break from the show to pursue a new project with a rival channel.

With secrets, betrayals, and tensions running higher than ever, could The Six be on the verge of another deadly decision?
